Coming from the small town of Dublin, Georgia, The Xiii Campaign is a fresh, young Hip Hop collective consisting of 3 multitalented artists/producers — Lord D’Andre $mith, Pavor Nocturnu$, and ATO. Over the past year, the trio has been grinding hard to make a name for themselves. Their newly released track, “Motions” has a chill/laid-back vibe, and really shows the groups potential.
Corey Lee is looking to go 3/3 to start of 2016 by dropping his 3rd record in as many months. ‘Keys’ is a record produced by his go to producer (18 year old Yung Trel) & is inspired by DJ Khaled’s “keys to success” & is reminiscent of the late Notorious B.I.G. as Corey Lee put his spin on the “10 crack commandments” for the second verse. The blend of sounds along with the tone of the record is the perfect mix for this to be a hit record. The record reminds us of the versatility the upstart philly MC has & shows a glimpse of his potential.
Cherae Leri started singing as a young girl in front of anyone who would listen: from friends and family to local events and weddings, making it clear she had a voice and was going to be heard. Her early influences were artists such as Patti Labelle, Leela James, and Erykah Badu, with Ms. Badu later becoming her mentor.
Since her move to Atlanta from Houston Leri’s been working on her collaborative EP with producer Sean Rocket entitled “I Understand Why”, releasing previous single “Just Bizness” back in June is now with the visual. The visual was directed and shot by Provision Media Group.
In the visual you can catch cameos with artist Tommy Swisher. Combining elements of neo-soul, pop, jazz and R&B, “Just Bizness” (produced by Mello) is another example of how Leri takes elements of past musical influences and adds her own modern take. She isn’t playing the damsel in distress or the victim, but rather the woman who’s about her business: too smart for the games or manipulation.
