Nashville Rapper Mike Floss Releases New Music “Take Yours” Co-Produced By Ducko McFli and Syk Sense

Iconic Group is pleased to announce the release of Nashville rising rap star MIKE FLOSS’ new song, “TAKE YOURS,” today. June 2nd. “Take Yours” is produced by the co-producers of Drake’s “Draft Day” multi-platinum-selling, Grammy-award-nominated producers Ducko McFli (Migos, Lil Yachty) and SYK Sense (Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar).

Mike Floss reflects on the making of “TAKE YOURS,” “I pulled up on Syk Sense to work on the album and “Take Yours” was the first track we made. The beat wasn’t even created yet, I just heard him scroll across these crazy horns and I started screaming the melodies into the mic. Syk instantly caught the vibe and started crafting the skeleton to the beat, we knew it was special.”

He continues, “After that, I shot the reference over to Ducko and asked him to lay some aggressive drums. When he sent what he created back, I had an imaginary mosh pit in my room, jumping around everywhere flipping out – lol. It’s the most ‘in your face song’ I’ve made yet.”

MIKE FLOSS has taken great strides as an independent artist having released “Dopeboy Dreaming” in 2015 with over 330K playsat Spotify to garnering over 940K plays in 2016 on the single “Movie” on Spotify.

Jarren Benton feat. Nick Grant – C.R.E.A.M. ’17

Having announced the growing 38-city “The Mink Coat Killa Tour” last week, Seventy 2 Music is now pleased to announce the release of JARREN BENTON’s new LP, the 90s inspired THE MINK COAT KILLA, for presale on June 1st. With the pre-order purchase, two (2) instant gratis tracks are available: “C.R.E.A.M. 17,” featuring Nick Grant and “AGAIN,” featuring Aleon Craft. The Mink Coat Killa is available in stores on June 23rd.

Jarren states, “The Mink Coat Killa is my self-inspired honorary Wu-Tang name and the album started out as a tribute album to the Wu-tang Clan but as I was making it and going through samples it became a tribute to the 90s period. I produced half the album going through the samples the WU used but instead of using them all out I flipped them and came up with a totally different 90s feel on some of the tracks.”

He continues, “I was raised in the 90s and I have always been inspired by that era and wanted to represent it well. That starts with the Wu. I am literally still the biggest fan of the 90s and the music is still in rotation in my car. When I started making this album I was at a point where I didn’t want to jump on the new wave and this project is me saying fk what’s on the radio now, I’m going to do what resonates with me.”

The first song from THE MINK COAT KILLA,”C.R.E.A.M. 17,” produced by JARREN and Spitzwell, is a tribute to the Wu-Tang Clan and it’s 1993 release of C.R.E.A.M. “C.R.E.A.M. 17” .

Houston’s T2 Ghetto Hippie drops new single, “IDGAF”

Houston’s T2 Ghetto Hippie releases “IDGAF,” the latest single from his upcoming EP, Double Cups & Taco Trucks, set to drop summer 2017. Listen to the track here. “Finding good vibes in bad situations. Smiling through the darkness. This project isn’t just about celebrating cough syrup,” T2 told Mass Appeal, “but more emphasizing what it’s like in my neighborhood, and portraying how it feels to play the game of life with the hand we were dealt.”

In anticipation of the EP release, T2 dropped the mind-bending video for title-track, “Double Cups & Taco Trucks,” on May 15th. Praised by Earmilk as one of their “most favorite videos of 2017,” the visual paid homage to Houston culture while “challenging the viewer to look beyond the basics.” (Milk) The video followed up the success of the “Double Cups & Taco Trucks” audio which was featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered for the podcast’s special SXSW 2017 preview.

A homegrown artist with a deep understanding of the south’s storied place in hip-hop, T2 draws inspiration from the artists and soundscapes that have defined the Houston sound. His single “Hustletown,” featuring the local icon Z-Ro, debuted on 97.9 The Box with legendary DJ Michael “5000” Watts, and his previous Trakksounds-produced album, A Southwest Side Story, landed on Houston Chronicle’s “12 of the Year’s Best Houston Albums.” Working with local producers Chris Rockaway and Trakksounds (Bun B, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Jhene Aiko), T2 possesses a landmine of momentum to redefine Houston rap. With all of Houston’s support behind him, T2 is ready to push forward Houston’s musical legacy.

T2’s happy-go-lucky defiance stands out from the hustling trials of the Houston music scene, providing a brighter side to an often dark aesthetic, common in rap culture. From his sunny music video “Let Go,” a track with The Suffers’ Kam Franklin, to his blissful single, “Better Than,” T2 has an “unorthodox way of spreading joy.” (Day and a Dream) Capturing this vibrance in his live performance as well, T2 was named in 2017 as one of 10 Acts Not to Miss by Houston Press, who recognized the “confession attached to his words, a snake-like wind-up that crushes it when any bit of excitement hitches within his voice.” Combining powerful lyricism with good vibes, T2 is ready to bring a new wave to his city with his upcoming project, Double Cups & Taco Trucks.

District 21 – Brighter The Better [Music Video]

Carving out a career in hip-hop as the child of a rap star is a difficult prospect. When a parent has made such a big impact on the genre, it is hard to escape the label of simply being their kid. Just look at some West Coast examples in Hood Surgeon and Lil Eazy E. The looming shadow of Dr. Dre and Eazy E could never be escaped by their sons. District 21 hopes to be one of the artist to break that mold.

District 21 is the son of Mack 10. Having a father that’s seen in all in the rap game certainly has its advantages. It also means that District is constantly competing with a legacy that has already been solidified. The only way to break out on his own is releasing quality music.

District 21 has been on the come up as of late, dropping consistent material and making a name for himself. Today, he returns with a new visual for the dope single “Brighter The Better”. Watch below.

Queens, New York Trinidadian singer/songwriter NayStar Releases Her Visual for “Come On”

“Come On” was written because I wanted to make a song that didn’t degrade men. Often times good men are busy working, trying to provide and take care of those he cares for. So in “Come On”, this was his night to be catered to. It’s his night to clear his mind, lay back and let the woman please him in every way physically. I wrote it and Jimmy Howard also known as “J-Nice” produced the track. The song just feels good. It’s sexy, it makes you want to move. It will always be one of my favorites.
