Trae Tha Truth Drops Two New Visuals “Friends” and “Dayz I Prayed” off 48 Hours Later Project

Grand Hustle/ABN’s own Trae Tha Truth just dropped off two new videos, “Dayz I Prayed” and “Friends” exclusively with Complex.

{Via Complex} “This is one of my favorite songs off the 48 Hours Later tape,” Trae told Complex of the “Friends ” video. “It brings Texas culture back to where we started, the Screw era. Rest in peace, Screw and Fat Pat.” As for “Dayz I Prayed,” Trae said he crafted the melodies as a nod to his original style. “This is the first song I recorded after I stopped rapping to save lives for a year straight, and one of my favorites,” he said. “The melodies bring my original style back.”

Thursday, Trae hit Complex with the exclusive premiere of both “Friends” and “Dayz I Prayed.”

Earlier this month, Trae visited Florida in an effort to help those affected by Hurricane Michael damage. “Florida needs help right now,” he said in an Instagram video upon arrival. “I’ve been through a lot of disasters and seen a lot of things and I ain’t never seen nothing like this. Houses ripped off foundations, trees sticking through the roof, cars and RVs and buses flipped. They need help . . . When we say ‘Help Florida,’ we mean helping everybody, not just one section.” Trae was previously among those honored during Houston’s Harvey Heroes Day for his efforts in helping rebuild the Texas city following Hurricane Harvey.

Transgender Artist LoneMoon Releases New Video “Day By Day” & LP ‘Better Luck Next Time’

“Hi, I’m LoneMoon.  I live in Oklahoma City, I make music and I want to make a difference in people’s lives.’  I want to, first and foremost, have an impact.  Even if it’s just changing your perspective on small things.”

LoneMoon recently made a very brave and liberating statement by coming out as transgender.  After premiering the first video, “Back To It,” to her just released project, Better Luck Next Time, in early September and receiving an uncomfortable amount of attention, Moon decided to finally acknowledge something he had in fact been struggling with for years behind the scenes—a secret that only family and close friends were privy too; that he was a she and was in the process of transitioning.  This now public acknowledgment, which was chronicled by DJbooth so compassionately, didn’t take place without overwhelming fear, anxiety or trepidation.  Yet, the courage LoneMoon has been privately displaying for years stands in pale comparison to the bravery she has shown with her public acknowledgement. She had to free herself, to truly be herself.

“Better Luck Next Time details some of my struggles.  The struggle of how I focus on appeasing others, more than necessarily writing something truly for me. Even though it’s deeply personal; I touch on insecurity, dysphoria and how I have been dealing with emotions (both positive and negative).  That’s partly the reason I entitled this project Better Luck Next Time, as a wish and a reminder to push myself; pushing to continue being true to myself.  This project is the first step in that journey.”

In addition to releasing her new project, LoneMoon also released a new visual for “Day By Day.”  Unlike her previous videos where Moon felt more at ease behind the camera self-directing her concepts and ideas, “Day By Day” displays the solace she is beginning to find to be free and herself; as she stars in the video—and just kicks it with friends.

LoneMoon’s Better Luck Next Time is now available at all digital retailers and streaming platforms:
