Fresh off of his SXSW show run, Atlanta artist Kris J releases Prelims, a new six-song project produced entirely by Natural Disaster.

Although Kris is more known for his smoker themed music, he takes a different approach on Prelims by sharing his experiences hustling to make it in the music industry.

Using race themes as a metaphor, Kris discusses the long-term dedication, endurance and ability to stay focused on the finish line when faced with the highs and lows involved with being an artist.

King Blitz connects with Kris J For “WYD”

Starting The New Year With A New Video By Atlanta Artist Kris J “Billion Likes”

Kris J is a 25-year-old Columbus, Georgia native, but has called Atlanta home for the past three years. His love for hip hop started at thirteen as he began learning about bars and schemes. After graduating from Bethune-Cookman University in 2013, where he was also a student athlete, he made the move to Atlanta.

Since moving to Atlanta, Kris has performed on stages across Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois, Ohio and many others; sharing the stage with artists such as Akon, Trinidad James, Kap G, Don Trip, Rob $tone, Starlito and Devin The Dude just to name a few.

After gaining recognition for his catchy single “Dope Lady” Kris has been steadily building a loyal fan base of smokers and hip hop lovers alike. He has since released a single with R&B crooner T-Pain, as well as worked with established producers 808 Mafia, Bandplay, and Knucklehead Beats.

His most recent project, How Much For The Quarter,  has further defined Kris as an artist who gives a voice to the millennial stoner. The project features singles “Scotty”, “P.O.T”, and “Possible”.

Currently, Kris is pushing his collaborative single with Alabama rapper Jay Dot Rain “Bad Habits” along with his latest project “Audio Trappin.” He is also building up his clothing brand, Class Of Stoners and his monthly listen session called “The Session” where he offers fans, supporters, and media a chance to listen to music he is working on.

Atlanta artist Kris J just released a new project, ‘Audio Trappin’

You can’t list the next up out of Atlanta without including Kris J. The stoner anthems from the rapper have gained him a loyal following that appreciates his lyricism and love of marijuana.

This year he’s consistently created buzz after releasing fire singles and videos such as “Blue Magic” and his latest single “Bad Habits” with Cool Club’s Jay Dot Rain. With the release of his latest project, “Audio Trappin” he has succeeded in raising the bar even higher on what we can expect from the young rapper.

Using audio files from an interview Kris had with the Cash Color Cannabis podcast, the eight tracks are weaved together with two interludes moving from the good times to the struggle within Kris’ career and personal life.

Kris J x Jay Dot Rain Releases Visual “Bad Habits” Produced By DJ MoneyGreen

Last month, two of Atlanta’s most promising up-and-coming rappers, Kris J and Jay Dot Rain joined forces for their collaborative single, “Bad Habits” produced by DJ MoneyGreen.

Today, they give us the accompanying visuals, directed by Architek Films.

The music video takes viewers along with Kris as he starts his day delivering pizza, and through a chance meeting with Jay Dot Rain, his life changes after he is taken to a studio where an OG shares knowledge of a different kind of hustle.

Atlanta artists Tez McClain and Kris J release new visuals directed by Enrique Batiste for their collaborative track, “Memphis”.

The music video takes viewers along for the ride to experience all of the plot twists and turns in a robbery gone wrong.

Ironically, the video, which is shot in black and white, proves life is just the opposite as the pair realize their opposing intentions.

The single is produced by J. Sky and can be found on Tez McClain’s album, Free Lunch.

Atlanta artist Kris J releases new visuals to his latest single, “Blue Magic”.

Directed by Espy of Architek Films, the music video features a cameo from fellow rapper Blve Cocaine who rolls one up with Kris during their exploration of the warehouses at CrossFade Studios.

The single “Blue Magic”, produced by Natural Disaster can be found on Kris J’s forthcoming album, Audio Trappin.

Atlanta artist Kris J’s Drops New Music Video to single “Audio Trappin”

Being a rapper requires more than just making music.

Upcoming Atlanta rapper Kris J shows us that with his first music video of 2017, “Audio Trappin” directed by Espy of Architek Films.

In “Audio Trappin” Kris shows the parallels between selling music and selling drugs, taking us through some of his day, from working out and making plays, to getting in the studio and creating.

The young rapper is continuing to build on last year’s momentum and has already started out strong in 2017. Last year he consistently released quality music with projects like “How Much For The Quarter” and “The A.R.T. Project” with popular singles “Dope Lady” “Live From The Westside” and “Possible” launching him into the forefront of Atlanta’s indie music scene.
