McKinley Dixon – The Importance of Self Belief [Mixtape]

Talented Hip Hop artist, McKinley Dixon released a new mixtape today called, The Importance of Self Belief, inspired by individuals from his community – all who he shares impactful moments with throughout life in Richmond.

 “Mainly the community helped me build it. Every person around me that expressed themselves or allowed me to express myself in a comfortable manner,” said Dixon. “I drew inspiration from moments of solace that me and my individual friends found and shared.” 

Dixon collaborated with 30 musicians to bring this creative and meaningful mixtape to life. These musicians include: Onirologia, Reginald Chapman, Gold Midas, Folfiz, Vanilla Summit, Letjo, and Reggie Pace. All together, these artists produced a total of 10 tracks that bring illuminate real life struggles of these individuals simultaneously addressing societal issues such as: police brutality, poverty, gender inequality, and crime.

The Importance of Self Belief is hands down a mixtape that many people who share similar moments can identify with. Now, it’s time for you to take a listen and experience the rawness of these tracks and hopefully appreciate the creativity produced by these talented musicians.

McKinley Dixon – Circle the Block

Richmond, Virginias own McKinley Dixon releases his latest single “Circle the Block” produced by Himself alongside Onirologia. This marks the first single released off of his forthcoming project The Importance of Self Belief. Over live instrumentals, Dixon expresses his frustration with the police brutality going on in his neighborhood and other neighborhoods alike. The song sends the message that it is time for the oppressed to stand up against their oppressors.
