West Coast Rapper LijahT Talks New “Rut” Single Ft. Ronntheartist

Rising superstar LijahT us having a great start to the new year. Riding out the success of his latest single “Rut” featuring fellow rising act RonnTheArtist, I got a chance to speak with him about his new material. Check it out below in a candid interview and discover the West Coast legend in the making.

Who is LijahT?

I am an artist with a car hobby and dad honestly! I also am a little bit of a gamer but not too crazy as my life is nothing spectacular…YET!

How did you get your start in the music industry?

In all honesty I had a career ending injury at my 4 year university California Lutheran. After surgery I was really sitting and contemplating on what to do with my life and what was next. So I started taking acting classes and making music as a result of my career ending injury. Music really helped me get through that situation. The tables turned when I started making my own music and I really enjoyed growing and developing a new skill.  I was 23 years old at the time and have not looked back since.

Who are some of your music influences?

DJ Quik first and foremost because he has always been my favorite artist since I was a child. The first CD my pops gave me was “Quik Is the Name ” and I was hooked instantly. That man deserves his flowers and respect for what he has done for hip hop and music in general. Man he is a one of a kind person! The crazy thing is I had a brief conversation with him through one of his friends I met driving for Lyft in LA, so hopefully one day I can get in the studio with him. As I am from the bay area, E-40 and Too $hort are among my favorites.

It is only right to stick with my roots and pay homage to those two because of the years of consistency they have in the game. They honestly have not aged, it seems like ha. I love oldies all day such as the S.O.S Band, Kool and The Gang, Mtume, Loose Ends, and Con Funk Shun, but the list goes on! My cousin Pamthefunkstress a Bay Area legend DJ, is very influential in my life. As her name has been around for years, since she’s passed, she has touched me even more.

What inspires you to keep creating at such a high level?

My daughter Aaliyah really is the driving force for everything I do because I move for her before anyone. She has seen her dad go through it but, at the end of the day your kids will always love you even if you aren’t there in every aspect. So that’s what keeps me inspired!

What was the inspiration behind your new “Rut” single?

At that time I had been going through the pandemic and testing negative for covid after I was locked up in the house for weeks. This was back in August/September ish so I really felt like at that time I was really in a “Rut”. Yet, I knew in life bad times don’t last, great people do!

What was it like working with Ronntheartist?

Funny thing is that Ron and I go all the way back to high school and have worked with each other prior. So essentially it was an easy thing to knock out. We just had to get the timing right because we both have busy lives and stay on the move. So when it happened it was perfect timing.

How has life been for you since finding success on your “Rut” single?

Pretty solid. We still have a lot more work to do as far as visuals, promotions and marketing ideas but it’s going great. I have no complaints.

Can we expect a full body of work from you as a follow up to this release?

Depending on how “Rut” impacts the fans, will determine my follow up release. Folks time span for music really isn’t that long, so if we really grab more attention and appeal to the consumers ears and eyes, I would love for the world to hear the Ep titled 7 in a couple of months.

What is up next for LijahT?

I am currently working on being a better father by the day. I am definitely going to get this mustang fixed up as I mentioned earlier, I am a car enthusiast. I am also preparing for the music video to “Rut” and releasing more tracks for the fans when the time is right for another release. We definitely have something great lined up for sure.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association Announces 79th Annual Golden Globes Details

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced today that the winners of the 79th Annual Golden Globe Awards® will be revealed on January 9, 2022, from the Beverly Hilton at 6 p.m. PT. In addition to recognizing 2021’s best in film and television, the Golden Globe Awards will shine a light on the long-established philanthropy work of the HFPA, showcasing a range of grantees during the program.

Over the past 25 years, the HFPA has donated $50 million to more than 70 entertainment-related charities, film restoration, scholarship programs and humanitarian efforts; incredibly impactful organizations, many of whom were hit hard over the last two years as a result of the pandemic.

During the program, Kyle Bowser, Senior Vice President of the NAACP Hollywood Bureau, will further discuss the “Reimagine Coalition,” a joint five-year initiative to increase diversity, equity and inclusion across the global entertainment industry. Each year the HFPA and the NAACP Hollywood Bureau will collaborate on, fund, and support a series of trailblazing initiatives, with the overall goals of ensuring visibility of projects from artists of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds; increasing diverse representation in the industry; and building pathways to inclusion for young artists and journalists of color.

Because of the current pandemic surge, health and safety remain a top priority for the HFPA. There will not be an audience on January 9th, and the following precautions are being taken for select members and grantees who will be in the room:

  • Proof of vaccination and booster shot, along with a negative PCR test within 48 hours, is required for entry;
  • All guests will be masked and socially distanced at all times while inside the ballroom;
  • There will be no red carpet. Media credential requests for this event will not be accepted;

Over the last eight months, the HFPA has completely overhauled its bylaws, implementing sweeping changes from top to bottom addressing ethics and code of conduct, diversity, equity and inclusion, governance, membership and more. In October, the HFPA admitted its largest and most diverse class to date with 21 new journalists, all of whom were first-time Golden Globe voters. A full list of the HFPA’s reforms can be foundHERE.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) was founded in 1943 – then known as the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association – by a group of entertainment journalists based in Los Angeles. During World War II, the non-profit organization established a cultural bridge between Tinseltown and millions around the world seeking an escape and inspiration through entertainment. The HFPA continues to do so today with a membership representing more than 55 countries. Since 1944, the group has hosted the annual Golden Globe® Awards – the premier ceremony which honors achievements in both television and film.

The licensing fees from the Golden Globe® Awards has enabled the organization to donate more than $50 million to more than 70 entertainment-related charities, film restoration, scholarship programs and humanitarian efforts over the last 27 years. A Room Full Of Mirrors Are The Next Stars Of HIPHOP Following New “Money Bags” Visual EP Under The Direction of TDE’s Punch

A Room Full Of Mirrors have officially released their highly anticipated Money Bags EP under the direction of TDE president Punch . Comprised of rising superstars Daylyt, Nick Grant, Lyric Michelle, Ichiban Don, Billymaree, Jrias Law, Earlee Riser, Hari, and Punch himself, the group have put together an impressive array of lyrically conscious driven songs that speak to their true artistry and raw creatively. As this release is actually a visual EP, Punch’s vision to create a bodywork with some of his closest friends and musical confidants has come full A just in time for the holiday season.

Debuting “Money Bags” at a private listening viewing party in Compton last month, Lyric Michelle made her directorial debut as shp wrote and directed the visual EP that is inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 hit film Reservoir Dogs. Her skills as a spit firing lyricist, and trendsetter allows her to tell a story from a unique perspective that is resonating with the masses. As the crew suits up to prepare for a robbery you candidly hear a copious amount of lyrically conscious bars and punchlines that create a unique viewing experience for anyone who is an enthusiast of REAL HIPHOP.

The fact that they created an entire visual album to accompany the actual audio EP release is beyond genius because it allows fans and listeners to see and hear how musically talented each individual artist is. It also gives us a deeper insight into the mastermind behind a lot of TDE’s albums and artists, which is Punch. As Hari produced each single featured on and in Money Bags, you can expect to hear ARFOM debut single “Mirrors” along with the fan favorites “Woah” and namesake “Money Bags”.

Daylyt’s raw lyricism and leadership, mixed with Nick Grant’s insane use of metaphors makes it easy for the legend Ichiban Don who annihilates all of his verses alongside his counterparts. Throwing in Lyric Michelle and Billymaree gives diversity to the collective as Billy is an angelic R&B/Soul artist who dabbles in rap and Lyric is a female lyricist who always holds it down for the lady spitters in the game. Jrias and Earlee’s high IQ for music shows as their voices and word choices mesh well with everyone else like a symphonic band. This collective shines the most on track 2 titled “Woah” which embodies the real talent of each individual artist.

Punch is creating the next wave of superstars with A Room Full Of Mirrors. Stream their new visual Money Bags EP below.

Not afraid to talk his talk and let the world know that she’s up next, the Toronto native has a Devine talent that is destined for greatness. I had the pleasure of speaking with him for a genuine conversation about the inspiration behind his new release.

Check it out below.

Who is Trilla Banks and where did the name come from?

People know me as SB where I am from but my artist name used to be Sean Banks. That name didn’t work out for me, as someone stole my material and dropped it under the same name. So I decided to change it. I always keep it true and real with everything and everyone around me so I changed it to Trilla Banks.

What was the inspiration behind your new “Spend It” visual?

I wanted to show my background working in a shop and I wanted all my homies that are around me to be apart of it. Visuals are important and I wanted to show my seriousness with my craft so I decided to premiere the song with a video.

Can you talk about the production of the record?

I produced the record. My dawg 7 helped with some of the drums. I been producing since Oct 2020 and I’m learning everyday. It’s another part of music I’ve fallen in love with.

How has being from Toronto impacted your decision to pursue music?

I love my city and everything it has to offer. Seeing artists like Drake, The Weeknd and Tory go as far as they have and being from the same place gave me a drive that I will make it as well.

When can we expect a full project from you?

First quarter, 2022. Something I’ve been working on for a while.

What are you working on next?

My new project which is dropping in the new year. I’ll be dropping singles up until then. I have my next single/video dropping any-day now.

Ayyod3 Interview

Who is Ayyod3?

Ayyod3 is a young upcoming artist who has a lot of passion for music and entertainment. Growing up I watched Michael Jackson a lot. I studied everything about him, from his lyrics, his dance moves and look. Later on Chris brown came and added on to the influence. AyyoD3 was built off of the mixture of both artist and with a mix of the free spirited culture. I love to experiment and try new things, as my style of music has many different vibes and roots. For example I would say my music is a mash up of r&b, trap melodic, rock, rap, and pop sounds. I create my own world , my own matrix when it come to music.

How did you upcoming bringing influence your decision to pursue music full time?

Music has always been apart of me. Since the early age of 3, I was studying dance, Ballet , jazz, and hiphop. Growing up I entered many talent shows in middle school and high school. When i got to college I was not sure what exactly I wanted to do but I knew for a fact it was in the music industry.

I took Computer Science (producing) and theatre. My school didn’t have a good music program and I was edger to learn more. So I started Interning in local studios in my neighborhood. From there I met a lot of artists on pursbhybuit to a music career. I was producing beats and engineering. Then one day I said you know what. I’m gonna be an artist. That day was definitely in 2016. I was really intrigued by the trap sound at that time and saw myself doing it too. But in my own way..

How did you come up with your artist name ?

I had the name D3 since i was in middle school. I had a childhood friend that used to yell “Ayyo!” to get someone’s attention so I adopted the Ayyo part into my name. I thought It sounded cool yelling it out “AYYO! D3!” Kinda thing.

How would you best describe your original sound?

The best way to describe my sound is energetic, melodic, and smooth. I like to give off a calm pretty boy vibe.

What was the inspiration behind your new “I don’t hit to miss” single and music video?

The inspiration came from the idea of being creative in my music videos. I wanted to stick out but also tell a story. I wanted to show a glimpse of my idea of an up coming artist / rappers future. After all the fame money and hard work, how would that be like? I chose to play the roles myself because I got inspired by Eddy Murphy in Coming to America 2.

Who are some artists you hope to one day work with?

One day I hope to work with Lil Uzi and Playboi Carti. I love their work and vision. I can relate to their styles and connect. I definitely hope to work with Chris Brown as well. Not in just music but also in dancing, which would be a true pleasure.

Can we expect a full project release from you anytime soon?

I’m working on a project but I do not know when it will be out to the public. My main goal at the moment is singles and visuals but I’m not sure. I’m very unpredictable.
