What is your name and what city do you rep?

My stage name is Sickemore. When i had recorded “im from NY” i said a few lines that gave me the idea for the name. Stuck with it. To “sic” meaning to chase or attack. Chase my goals and attack beats. Born in Brooklyn but lived in Long Island for a long while.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest release is called “Brute Force”. The beat selection is crazy and i had fun recording them. I just brought out what i was hearing in the beat. The words and the concept came to me pretty easy because i enjoyed the vibe. The beats were made by Cashmere Brown. Good friend of mine, he does his thing.

What is unique about you and your music?

What is unique about me and my music is i have freedom to say anything and it would be true. I experienced a lot at a young age good and bad. I don’t have to curse a bunch to get my point across and i care about lyricism and delivery even with the more upbeat songs.

What shaped your music?

What shaped my music is straight up being a student and a fan of hip hop since i could walk. Also life experiences helped a bunch. I remember listening to music as a kid then growing up and understanding the music more after experiencing the content of the music i used to and still listen to. But since i experience a lot, i dont have to try hard to convince anyone about my backround like some rappers/emcees have to.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

I realized it when got in a good position in life where i didnt have to focus on survival anymore. Once i was in a good position, i saw that i can focus on music more.

What type of music do you listen to?

I listen to Hip Hop/Rap, R&B, Jazz. But i’m like a jukebox, there are many genres that i can say i like a song to or be able to recognize and recite.

What inspires you to write music?

The beat i am listening to inspires me to write music. I know i have the mind to bring out what the beat is saying and kick something dope.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

Being the best at whatever i step into. I like having skills though. I am passionate about being a walking one stop shop. I like to do it all.

Happiness to you is…

Temporary.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

Don’t hold back and if you have an idea you think is dope, what someone says can help you or discourage you. Just put out your best work and don’t say anything crazy that could mess up any business opportunities.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

I’m always moving and doing something. I have some songs finished already but if i find some hot beats i may switch up. So right now i dont know.

Where do we find your music / music projects?

You can find my music on Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon, iTunes and almost everywhere that you can stream or buy music.

Any last words for the readers?

My music is for me just as much as it is for you. Have an open mind and open ears so nothing goes over your head. Peace.
