What is your name and what city do you rep?
I’m Fingatipx! I rep the South but specifically Hollywood, Florida and my Latino community

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?
My recent releases were designed to showcase my songwriting skills and diversity. I love to experiment with sounds, and I’m inspired to keep releasing enjoyable music.

What is unique about you and your music?
I think my production, diversity, and sound will set me apart as an Artist. Embracing my bilingual side with my music, selecting unique sounds, and creating my own styles of promo graphics/ logos/ videos etc. will assist in staying unique in my craft.

What shaped your music?
Most definitely my background and my surroundings growing up in the US. I was always surrounded by musical influences which in this case my father being a primary. He was part of the chorus group in a Salsa band in Venezuela. Growing up in the US, however, I was introduced to Hip/Hop and Rap between the ages of 10-12. Listening got me hooked to the sounds, and wordplay which inspired me to start writing by the age of 14 . I wanted to make beats and produce like Lil Jon, Lex Luger, Pharell, Timbaland etc. – It was the beginning of my music production dream. As I developed my beat making skills, it always drew me back to writing. Writing songs became a hobby, now it has developed into something that I plan on taking seriously.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
God played a role in my epiphany as a creative, making this a calling to my natural talents. I realized it more in my late 20’s

What type of music do you listen to?
I listen to a variety of music, but mainly Hip/Hop, Rap, R&B, Urban Latin, House & Jazz

What inspires you to write music?
I want to make emotion driven music, whether it is to feel, to seize, and/or inspire. Melodies come to my mind very easily which I then translate into words when I have a concept in mind. I write songs to be replayed, not replaced.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
I am very passionate about design. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 2016. I now work as a Freelance Designer full time, while I focus on music after hours.

Happiness to you is…
Family, Coffee, Music and Art

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?
Don’t think everything you make will resonate with everyone. Find your target audience and go tunnel vision.
