Rostrum Records signee My Favorite Color served up an auto-themed double single that tells two sides of a story, shares “car pack.” On these two singles, the Pittsburgh native leans into the natural rasp and grain of his delivery, giving us a classic feel that feels familiar but fluid at the same time. The first track, “Pink Lac,” describes a relationship that revolves around materialistic values and status, like being able to ride around sunny Los Angeles in a convertible pink Cadillac. On the flip side, “Nissan” represents that ride-or-die type of relationship, where somebody will be with you whether you have a pink Cadillac or a beat-up, gray Nissan.
“car pack” arrives alongside a music video for “Pink Lac,” expanding My Favorite Color’s already deep catalog of inventive visuals. Directed by Globe, the video for “Pink Lac” ping pongs back in time between My Favorite Color’s childhood and present, as the young rapper fantasizes about what life might be like as a successful rap star.
