Ragtrade Atlanta, a fashion community created to further the growth and interest of fashion designers in the southeast, is pleased to announce Microsoft as a leading partner of Atlanta Fashion Week (ATLFW). Atlanta’s official runway show is scheduled Wednesday, October 5 through Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the city’s historic Underground Atlanta.
As the official producer of ATLFW, Ragtrade Atlanta will partner with Microsoft to empower 10 talented designers to participate in the year’s official show schedule, providing access to devices and software tools that foster productivity, creativity and connection. Microsoft will also participate in a panel discussion about fashion and technology during the ATLFW Live conversation series.
“This partnership supports our 2022 design participants to bridge fashion and innovation together while enhancing business development skills through technology” said Angela Watts, Founder and Creative Director of Ragtrade Atlanta. “Microsoft’s support of our vibrant creative community will elevate the experiences of fashion designers who have committed to call Atlanta and the southeast their home.”
This partnership complements a wide range of community initiatives created by Ragtrade Atlanta to position the city as a key market in global fashion. Using power and technology, Microsoft’s engagement with ATLFW will continue to support the cultural vivacity of Atlanta and the southeast and drive brand awareness for independent designers who strive to scale their businesses.
“At Microsoft, our mission is to empower people and organizations to achieve more,” said Maruschka Loubser, Director of Global Brand Partnerships for Microsoft. “We are excited to partner with Ragtrade Atlanta on ATLFW because we both share a commitment to supporting and empowering creativity with technology.”
ATLFW will officially launch October 5, with an invite-only experience followed by three days of high-energy runway shows at the historic Underground Atlanta. Celebrating design talent from diverse backgrounds, creators, and audiences, ATLFW will feature various interactive and engagement programming ranging from industry-expert panels, art gallery tours, socials, and more. The show will feature menswear, womenswear, and streetwear that reflects the collaboration of music and visual arts defining Atlanta’s fashion and culture.
