Rappa Delivers Hot ‘Slapeton’ Vibes On New ‘Trappin In Tha Summer’ Mixtape

Watts native Rappa is one of the leading producers in the rapidly growing world of Slapeton rap music.

Combining a mixture of trap music and reggaeton, the rap subgenre has taken Latin markets by storm and is a major sonic influence on Rappa’s Trappin In Tha Summer mixtape.

In an exclusive interview with DJIceberg, Rappa spoke about his upcoming slapeton collab project with Santeezy in addition to how a podcast episode help them come up with one to their focus tracks for the West Coast producer’s recent project.

“Me and Santeezy have already released a project called Slap Season vol.1 in 2020 right before covid,” Rappa said in part. “We have been working since then and now we combined reggaeton and west coast slaps. Focus is like an introduction to the new genre called “Slapeton” which name idea came Larry Jayy who was signed to Dj Mustard’s 10 Summers label as a producer.”

Rappa continued, going into detail about how important thee record “Focus” was to the entire process of his recent release. “On “Focus” you can hear the Slapeton sound. Slapeton has also became a movement in Los Angeles ones a month “Slapeton” events are held at The Melrose House which can be found through eventbrite.” A new Slapeton event is also going down in Los Angeles this weekend on August 25.
