Rising Artist Krishi is Making Noise in the Hip-Hop World, Set to Release First EP

For California native and rising rapper Krishi, music is a form of self-expression. The 18-year-old’s musical journey started as a hobby freestyling with his cousins, who later on encouraged him to pursue music as a career. Krishi spent most of his time writing lyrics in his notebook and soon after, he began producing music on his laptop. After realizing he had talent, the up-and-comer decided to start recording in the studio, and released his first track on Soundcloud, which ended up exceeding 50k streams in roughly one week.

With his smooth melodies and a knack for songwriting, Krishi took advantage of the time he had during lockdown and wrote more music. “Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I write about how life is going, how it’s been, how I want it to end. Whatever goes through my head ends up on paper,” he explained. The emerging artist has always had a connection with music, which brought out a large range of emotions. A few of his favorite hip-hop artists are Nav, Dreamville’s J.I.D and J Cole, whom he’s been a fan of for a long time, referring to him as his inspiration.

In just a few days, the rapper is set to release his first EP “Through The Fire And Flames”, and will have production from Yung Pear, OuhBoy and Vitals. A collaboration with Chicago-based rapper Blvck Svm will also be featured on the project. For Krishi, he hopes his work will inspire others by letting them know it’s okay to express themselves creatively, and pursue their dreams no matter what. “I want people to listen and know they can take hard times and turn them into something good. You can walk away with a win if you fight for it. You’ll get it in the end.”
