Ace Hood Wants Only Good ‘Energy’ For His New Single

Ace Hood has dropped his new single “Energy,” fresh off his upcoming BODY EP, which will be released in July via Hood Nation/EMPIRE

A master of balancing self-improvement, social consciousness, family life, and artistic independence, Ace Hood knows his energy is worth protecting. Returning to show that he is more spirited than ever, Ace shares “Energy,” the first single from his upcoming B.O.D.Y. EP. Arriving this summer, B.O.D.Y. (Build Or Destroy You) serves as the followup to February’s M.I.N.D. EP. Whereas M.I.N.D. (Memories Inside Never Die) aimed to provoke thought in its listeners, B.O.D.Y.focuses on perception and the role of human senses in distilling lived experiences.

Ace Hood & Killer Mike Pay Homage to Dolph, Nipsey, and Other Black icons In “Greatness” Music Video

Driven by health, spirituality, self-sovereignty, and social consciousness, Ace Hood knows that true power comes from independence. Following the example of the historic Black trailblazers who preceded him, and looking to set an example of his own, Ace shares “Greatness,” the latest video from his recent M.I.N.D. (Memories Inside Never Die) EP, available everywhere via Hood Nation / EMPIRE.

Enlisting the help of Killer Mike, the track serves as a celebration of Black excellence which finds the two artists taking stock of the many hardships they faced along their journeys before laughing at the failures of those who aimed to derail their rises.

Ace Hood Taps the Greatness of His ‘M.I.N.D.’ in Triumphant New EP

Ace Hood drops M.I.N.D. (Memories Inside Never Die) EP, via Hood Nation/EMPIRE, marking the resurgence of one of rap’s most electrifying voices. The veteran of the Broward County streets is dropping the first EP where he embraces “the real Ace Hood” and champions more than just the latest drip and money; he’ll argue that true wealth resides inside your mind. He occupies a lane that puts him in rarified air, evoking comparisons with artists like J. Cole, Kendrick, and Cordae. The EP holds ten fine-tuned tracks and harbors no features EXCEPT for Killer Mike, and if I say so myself, it is one of the best verses I’ve heard from the Atlanta great to date. Hood’s M.I.N.D. EP is the perfect preamble to a year full of music, business ventures, and growth.

Ace Hood Yearns For Liberation in Heart-Wrenching “Free” Video

Making his name with invigorating turn-up anthems before choosing a new path, Ace Hood is determined to use his insight and his influence to help people like him. In his new video Free,” Ace examines some common hardships faced by Black men, and dreams of a way the world could be different. Using an addictive, conversationally melodic flow over a whirring synth beat and stadium-sized percussion, Ace astutely summarizes a litany of problems–from gun violence, to police brutality, to poverty and hunger–and empathizes with those less fortunate than he.

Ace Hood Announces 2/25 “M.I.N.D.” EP, Shares New “Glory” Single

Since he bought out his major label contract to take control of his art and direction, Ace Hood has tapped into the full potential of his mental, spiritual, and physical power. Today, Ace Hood channels that energy, kicking off the year with the announcement of his upcoming EP, M.I.N.D. (Memories Inside Never Die), along with the release of its new single, “Glory.”

The Olivier Bassil & MakeTheNoises-produced and Holla Fame-engineered “Glory” finds Ace reflecting on the great many obstacles and expectations that stood in the way of the success he was able to achieve, as well as the impediments standing between the Black community and an equitable future: “The blacker the berry, you know ain’t no sort of compassion/Had to study their tactics/We living gods, and they trying to bury our magic/In a devilish fashion,” raps Ace. However, Ace assures listeners that those challenges can be overcome with the focus and dedication he aims to inspire.

“Glory” is the second single to arrive from M.I.N.D., following the glowing, self-assured “Little Light,” released in late 2021. The EP, arriving on February 25thvia Hood Nation/EMPIRE, kicks off what is poised to be a career year in the artist’s independent reign.
