R&B Artist MikeyV Drops Visuals For “Amen”

Mikey V’s commanding appearance almost always gets him mistaken for a rapper. That is until he belts out the most melodic and soulful blend of what would not be considered modern rhythm & blues. His lyrical edginess on current hip hop & 90s r&b type- infused beats, quickly puts you in the mind of Jaheim at his best or Jagged Edge and the So So Def 90’s R&B reign. Atlanta vocalist, Mikey V, (“V” for vocalist) knew his story wouldn’t end in his hometown of Milwaukee.

Growing up Michael Dorsey aka Mikey V discovered he could sing after being continually asked to sing songs for his friends and loved one’s voicemail recordings. Living on the rough streets of Milwaukee’s East Side, Mikey V’s mother tried her best to nurture him and his brothers’ interest for music, particularly R&B. He can recall composing music with his various computers and keyboards as far back as aged 12 or 13.

However, that didn’t stop Mikey V from getting mixed up with a tough crowd. By age 18, he found himself with two indictments, one being with the notorious “BMF” group.

It was while he was incarcerated that Mikey V really began to focus back on music. Music became his outlet for his pain. He explains how one must take “the good with the bad of life. That’s what he writes and sings about in his music. And after being released, he was ready to start a new chapter.

In late 2019, Mikey V moved to Atlanta to really begin pursuing his music career. Since he has been heavy in the studio and set to release some tracks starting with a remake of Jagged Edge’s “Promise.” With musical influences like the 90s era music, Derez Deshon, Major 9, Tank, Escape, and more, we can expect great things from Mikey V. Be sure to follow him on all platforms for all updates.

OMGitsBeezy Reflects On Life In ‘Repentance’ Music Video

Just as 50 Cent survived a life-threatening barrage of gunfire and lived to rap about it, North Carolina rapper OMGitsBeezy has also overcome his own trauma with gun violence.

OMGitsBEEZY keeps it real and even makes peace with his shooter in his verses on “Repentance” which acknowledges his part in all of the violence.

Personifying a 2018 near-death experience in which OMGitsBEEZY, whose real name is Nicholas Murphy, was shot down in North Carolina, “Repentance” captures the icons+Giants signee recounting his thoughts the moment a bullet meant to kill him left him temporarily paralyzed instead.

The official video for the harrowing release, which is directed by Fatin “10” Horton and Woosy, also opts for a twisted and suspenseful plot capturing OMGitsBEEZY in the midst of an eery out-of-body experience as he watches his own life play out like a reality show.

“I can’t be mad because someone caught me slippin/I can’t be mad because a young nigga shot me/Cause I would’ve did it too if I was in his position/I can’t act like I ain’t been on a mission/I can’t forget bout the way I was living,” OMGitsBEEZY raps.

The release of “Repentance” initiates the start of OMGitsBEEZY’s 2022 campaign, which was already organically catapulted by the momentum he built up with his 2021 The Leaks, Vol. 2 album — the follow-up to his 2018 album of the same name.

Since he began producing his own music at 12-years-old, OMGitsBEEZY has focused on elevating his craft through a years-long process that came to a head upon the release of his breakout 2019 Boyz N The Hood project.

OMGitsBEEZY recently joined the independent record label icons + Giants, which is also home to multi-platinum artist-producer Dubba-AA, who is rolling out his artist project following his hit-making placements with rappers such as NBA YoungBoy, Lil Uzi Vert and more.

Launched in 2021, icons + Giants is an exclusive joint venture partnership with ADA Worldwide, the independent label and artist services arm of Warner Music Group. The diverse outfit was founded by Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer, entrepreneur, and artist manager, Billy Mann, in conjunction with A&R executive and artist manager, Benton James.

DB Kash Releases Born Broke Die Rich

A sparkly pamphlet of production that DB KASH can boast in today, the album is a high-octane juice that tells of so many life’s stories that people have been eager to listen to for long. In his song “Blessed,” he delivers a smooth number that tells his story from the beginning to where he is now. A true definition of never giving up!

Throughout his past music albums, DB has evolved into that capable artist who just delivers heartfelt lyrics with bars wrapped in from track to track and release after release. Several of his new releases have embarked on providing a message of his life story with a speck of some of the most tragic events in his journey. On tracks like Envy, the adept rapper laments how those close to him try to rip him off his success on a daily. The reality of expressing one’s vision of their personal journey and showcasing their own struggles can create a path for many lukewarm friendships.

Artist DB KASH has had to strife against people around him who change when they can’t get what they want. This is a vivid picture of many false relationships he has had to deal with, even though these struggles have not stopped him from becoming the entrepreneur with the big vision he is today.

From every angle of the album “Born Broke Die Rich,” artist DB KASH might have just released his best release since Cuffing Season. Tracks; Rat Traps & He Say She Say appeal to the storyteller within him and awake his agility to turn Hip-Hop music into a powerful story shot from the lenses of a creative musician that has tasted the journey of fame.

HillTop Hype| Meet: Soul Vybe Cutta

• Soul Vybe Cutta •

Multi-talented recording artist, Soul Vybe Cutta, from the the small town of Camilla, Georgia, is best known for his cleverly written storytelling.

Besides his natural passion for music, multiple hardships such as: homelessness, close family deaths, substance abuse, and depression have also inspired Cutta to channel his pain through writing and making music.

With new music soon to come, I got a chance to ask Soul Vybe Cutta a few questions.

Who is Soul Vybe Cutta!? Describe yourself as in artist in 3 words.

– “I would describe myself as: abstract, devoted, and melodic.”

We know that you’ve dealt with many personal hardships growing up, such as, substance abuse & depression —  how did you use music to cope with those hardships?

– “I wrote my way out of my hardships, as if they were affirmations to remind myself that I was greater than, and never less than anything that attempted to over take my mind and life as a whole.”

With that being said, what is your goal as an artist? What message are you inevitably trying to get across to your fans?

– “My goal is to inspire those who need inspiration and to let them know that any great vision that God has placed in them is possible.”

Your military background has opened doors for you to travel the world — and on top of that, we know you now just travel for fun & for inspiration — what has been your favorite destination so far, and why?

– Europe as a whole, but if I have to choose, Im going to go with the Netherlands because of the free spirited lifestyle; their admiration for nature, and landscapes of serene scenery.”

Where’s some places you haven’t gone yet that are on your bucket list?

– “Thailand and Egypt .”

Currently you reside in Germany. Seeing that you’re originally from Camilla, Georgia — What is it like living in a place so culturally different from what you’re “use” to?

– “It’s initially a major culture shock, but once you make it past the language and cultural barriers, you begin to realize that there really isn’t a difference at the core of every new place visited.”

We like to ask everybody this one… Who are your top 5 musical inspirations? Dead or alive.

“Jay-Z; Micheal Jackson; Cee-lo Green; Outkast; [and] B.O.B. “

With 5 projects under your belt, which one was your favorite to work on and why?”

– “The Project that I am currently working on for later this year. I have more creative control with producing a lot of the songs on the project, and also these opportunities being the exact things I have always prayed to experience.”

Now we know you got a brand new project on the way, do we get any type of exclusive preview? — Name of the project, concept, estimated release date? Or do we just have to wait and see!?

– “I have already let too much out of the goodie bag already.”

What can Soul Vybe Cutta fans (and perspective fans) look forward to from you in 2019!?
