Like past Wale hits, “Flawed” is emotionally raw and insightful. Reflecting on a breakup, he outlines why this relationship won’t work, sadly but assuredly rapping and singing. Separately, Wale and Gunna suffer the turmoil of drawn-out romantic splits. But the video ends with the duo together, and the women they’ve left behind in the background as Young Thug makes a surprise appearance. Watch it HERE

Queen Naija & Wale Team Up On “Butterflies Pt. 2 Remix”

Multi-Platinum artist Wale joins Queen Naija “Butterflies Pt. 2 Remix.” While Queen’s warm vocals celebrate enduring love, Wale’s verse tells a story of early infatuation flaming and then fizzling out, leaving him with the realization that he was just a side thing. Since arriving in 2006, Wale has consistently gone against the grain, releasing a series of albums that include the Billboard 200-topping The Gifted  and The Album About Nothing and 2019’s Wow…That’s Crazy, which includes the No. 1 single “On Chill” ft. Jeremih. Download / stream “Butterflies Pt. 2 Remix” HERE. View the visualizer HERE.

Released in March 2020, “Butterflies Pt. 2” is the hypnotic sequel to Queen Naija’s “Butterflies,” which was one of three Platinum-certified singles from her self-titled debut EP, released in 2018 by Capitol Music Group. “Butterflies Pt. 2” landed on the biggest R&B playlists on four major platforms and has already surpassed 33 million cumulative global streams.
Shot in Atlanta, the “Butterflies Pt. 2” video traces the many stages of a relationships. Directed by Roger Alexander of AlphaMale Visualz (T.I, Rick Ross, 2chainz), it stars Queen and her boyfriend Clarence White. RESPECT. Magazine noted, “[The video] seamlessly reflects the vulnerability of the track itself. Over acoustic guitar-laced minimal production by Rice N’ Peas (Kiana Ledé, Bazzi), emotion shines through the verses as she confesses, ‘I still get butterflies.’” View HERE.

With the arrival of her 2018 self-titled debut EP, Queen emerged as an unstoppable new force in the R&B world. Having clocked over 800 million combined global streams to date, Queen Naija features three Platinum-certified singles: “Butterflies,” “Karma” and her breakthrough hit “Medicine”—an independently released smash that made its staggering debut at No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100, a nearly-unheard-of achievement for an unsigned artist. Wale Makes A Powerful Statement With New EP ‘The Imperfect Storm’

After protesting on the front lines, Wale couldn’t stay silent. Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement on the streets, he hit the studio and quickly recorded a brand new surprise project, The Imperfect Storm. Fittingly, it impacts on Juneteenth—the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It’s available now via Warner Records. Get it HERE.

Among these six tracks, the GRAMMY®-nominated rapper/actor/poet rhymes with a revolutionary spark and his ancestor’s spirit. On the single “June 5th / QueenZnGodZ,” his heartfelt flow burns bright over a beat, punctuated by laidback keys and bass. He confesses, “I try to watch the news, but I’m lashing out” before crying out, “Yo America, tuck your shirt in, your devil is showing.” The powerful, poetic, and politically charged piece spans the intense one-two punch of “MOVIN DIFFERENT” through a liberating finale on “MAAJO.”

Wale enlisted Kenny Huyng (@shadowmoses) for the equally provocative cover art. In the background, protestors assemble in darkness as flames rise from a fallen street sign towards a cloud-covered sky, signaling the oncoming storm. This week, BET announced that Wale’s #1 single “On Chill” [feat. Jeremih] is nominated for “Best Collaboration.” The 2020 BET Music Awards air on June 28th on BET and CBS.

Wale Releases Video For “Sue Me” Feat. Kelly Price

Making a statement like only he can at exactly 2:02 PM ET, which signifies his 202 D.C. area code, Wale reveals the provocative and powerful seven-minute short film for his latest single “Sue Me” (feat. Kelly Price). Watch it HERE. The song stands out as the opening track of his critically acclaimed 2019 opus, Wow… That’s Crazy [Warner Records]—available HERE

The GRAMMY® Award-nominated rapper/actor/poet recruited renowned designer and creative director Kerby Jean-Raymond [Pyer Moss] behind the camera as director. The surreal clip depicts an alternate reality where typical tropes of the African American urban experience become completely inverted. The inner city narrative follows a struggling white teen, played by Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges [Manchester By The Sea, Honey Boy, Waves], who sees life on the other side for the first time. Reimagining brand names, a “White People Meet” billboard watches over the sprawl as the protagonist visits a “Morebucks Coffee” only to be forcibly escorted out as Wale films the reversed racial profiling on his phone. The climax proves utterly thought-provoking, to say the least.

Wale said, “What if you could walk through a day in the life of an average African American young man? What would you see? What would you hear? What would you face? We wanted to redefine the whole narrative and allow everybody to step into these shoes. I’ve never been more proud of a video than what we did here. Kerby really brought this vision to life, and Reebok helped make it a reality. I hope it makes you think a little. While you’re thinking, stay safe and stay home!”
